Do Sweeps Coins expire? Coin expiry and inactive accounts
Find the event that starts the clock and distinguish an expired reward from a dormant account or a removed balance.
On this page
Sweeps Coins can expire under an operator’s rules, but there is no single expiry period for every casino or every balance. The useful question is what starts the clock: receiving the coins, last logging in, last playing or a promotion ending.
| Rule | What to establish | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Time since a reward was credited | Which reward and which credit date the rule covers | That a fresh login renews it. |
| Inactivity | Whether activity means login, play or another specified action | That collecting a reward meets the definition. |
| Promotion deadline | Whether it ends claiming, qualifying play or redemption | That all three share one deadline. |
| AMOE code expiry | Whether it concerns submission, postmark, receipt or processing | That a valid code guarantees timely acceptance. |
| Account closure | What happens to each balance and pending prize | That an open account and an unexpired balance are the same thing. |
For the request-code clock, check the postal AMOE preparation steps as well as the casino’s own expiry wording.
The wording changes the practical answer
WOW Vegas’s help page, for example, describes free SC expiring 60 days after they are credited. That is a credit-date rule, rather than a promise that logging in keeps those coins alive. Use the current terms and any reward-specific instructions to establish the rule applying to your balance. Read the WOW Vegas help page.
If a different rule instead measures inactivity, identify the activity it requires. Do not import the familiar number of days from another casino. Where an account screen gives a deadline, save it alongside the conditions rather than relying on memory.
Keep a short record for balances you intend to redeem
Record the currency, amount, credit date if relevant, displayed expiry and remaining redemption conditions. A reminder before the deadline can give you time to ask about an unclear rule. It does not make playing or spending more the right decision.
You may prefer to leave a small promotional balance behind rather than buy another package or continue playing to preserve it. Money and time already spent cannot be recovered merely by avoiding an expiry date.
If coins have already disappeared
Save the transaction history and ask for the exact adjustment: amount, currency, date and rule applied. Distinguish expiry from a canceled promotion, a pending redemption, a correction or account closure. A reduction is not automatically a fee, and a login problem does not prove the balance has been forfeited.
Taking a break comes first
If you need to stop, ask how the operator handles eligible prizes during a timeout or exclusion. Do not delay a needed restriction or return to play solely to preserve coins. The limits and breaks guide explains how to make that request while reducing the prompts to keep playing.
